A. E. Backus Museum and Gallery
The A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery, a 5,000 sq. ft. public visual arts facility, was established in 1960 by A.E. Backus and a group of local art enthusiasts.
The museum features the Nation's largest display of original paintings by Albert Ernest Backus. The museum also handles consignment sales of Backus paintings as well as other Treasure Coast artists of merit. Four additional exhibition wings feature changing exhibits of artwork by contemporary artists.

The Children's Museum exhibits include, Our Town Market
where children will be able to role play shopping complete with shopping carts and checkout station,
the Health Center where children learn about their body systems enjoying
interactivities involving a healthy heart, digestive system, skeletal system, and the functions of the brain,
a Car Care Center where children can
change a tire, check underneath the
chassis, role play and use hands-on tools,
a Vet Clinic
where children play the role of veterinarian,
Mail Stop where kids will have an exciting time sorting and delivering mail, The Children’s Theatre complete with costumes for young actors, scripts for young writers and props,

The old Martin County Courthouse has been restored to its original 1937 architectural design and now houses two

The Elliott Museum was founded in 1960
by Harmon Elliott in memory of his
father, turn-of-the-century inventor
Sterling Elliott. Created to showcase

Gilbert's Bar
House of Refuge at Gilbert's Bar is the oldest building on the Treasure Coast and the only fully restored House of Refuge in Florida. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the House (circa 1876) is a museum displaying historical maritime artifacts, personal items and furnishings belonging to the House's 'Keeper' and family, a model ship collection,

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1860 Jupiter Lighthouse and exhibits in the waterfront History Museum located in the restored WWII Naval housing quarters building. Outdoor exhibits include the Lighthouse Keeper's Workshop, Tindall Pioneer Homestead & Seminole Chickee. Visit the Museum gift shop for history & Lighthouse books, clothing & fine gifts.
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is located on a US Coast Guard base. Visitors are permitted access to the Lighthouse and Lighthouse grounds only on a guided registered tour through the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. The admissions desk is located in the Museum gift shop.
Admission includes Museum exhibits and
Lighthouse Tour. Children must be
at least 48" tall to climb the
Lighthouse. Children under that height
may still go on tour but will have to
stay with an adult at the deck area of
the lighthouse.

Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum
Mel Fisher, the World's Greatest
Treasure Hunter famous for finding the
largest underwater treasure find in
history, the Nuestra Senora de Atocha
and the Santa Margarita, the Spanish
galleons that sank during a hurricane on
September 6, 1622. His find included
$450 million dollar treasure cache with over 40 tons of
silver and gold, over 100,000 Spanish
silver coins known as "Pieces of Eight",
gold coins, Columbian emeralds, silver
and gold artifacts and over 1000 silver
bars.
This was only roughly half of the treasure that went down with the Atocha.
The wealthiest part of the ship, the
stern, is yet to be found.

showcased including gold, silver,
emeralds, jewelry and other recovered
artifacts and treasures found on the
famous shipwreck Atocha and Santa
Margarita as well as the 1715 Shipwreck
Fleet by Mel Fisher. The museum also is a working conservation laboratory used to preserve artifacts recovered from underwater with an observation window for viewing conservation work from inside the museum.
Within the museum, visit the
gift shop, where you can purchase
artifacts and coins recovered from the
shipwrecks. Or Dive the Atocha and go
treasure hunting with Mel's team.

Smithsonian Marine Station and Ecosystems Exhibit
The
Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit
provides a window into the underwater
world of the east coast of Florida's most diverse estuary in the United
States - the Indian River Lagoon.
Experience the unsurpassed biological
diversity that lies below these waters. At the Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, visitors can explore six different Florida marine habitats and learn about the complexity and importance of marine ecosystems. The largest aquarium is a model of a Caribbean coral reef. Other displays include living models of seagrass, mangrove, estuarine and near shore habitats, as well as a deepwater Oculina coral reef. There are several smaller aquarium displays and a touch tank where you can meet some of our local sea creatures.
